TARANTO: called "the city of the two seas", famous for its  Aragonese castle  whose  round towers reflects their  powerful shape in the waters of the channel on which the revolving bridge allows the sale of  ships from one sea to another.  Taranto is well known for hosting  the  “Magna Grecia” civilization in ancient times . Archaeological findingss are saved in the local   museum where  ancient  golden jewels  and  fine ancient earthenware can exibit the excellent artcraft  of the IV and V century  before Christ.


MARTINA FRANCA:
picturesque hilly town 420 metres above the sea level, built in a baroque  style, is known for its conical dry stone houses called 'Trulli' and for its Music  ‘Valle d’itria’festival in summer. Walking through the historical center of the town you will greet the  Baroque style churches, as the majestic church of  “San Martino”  and the small white buildings displaying  their stone ornaments, on  balconies,  portals and walls. In its narrow alleys you will be invited to taste the special local dishes in the numerous ‘trattorie’ , restaurants or  pizzerie.   The  town of Martina Franca  overlooks the mervellous Itria  Valley which is scattered of ‘ tratturi’ (narrow rural paths), white circular stone houses called trulli. A  small  refined  old church  attached  to the convent of friers of the Somaschi order  stands out silent and solemn.  It is the Church of the Cappucini,  a jewel of artcraft ,  completely   furnished  with wooden altars in all its  side chapels that will welcome visitors with its intimate spiritual atmosphere and  its dry stones architecture  built  according to the local master’s tradition.


ALBEROBELLO:
The capital of Trulli. A town recognized by Unesco, as a worldwide cultural patrimony to be saved and protected.


GROTTAGLIE:
The town of ceramics which hosts the  airport for  Boeing  company’s airplanes to land. The well known  fine ceramics of Grottaglie are exported all over the world.

Cultural tours in other provinces and cities of Puglia can be organized so as to admire the Old Castles of Friederik the II at Andria and Oria(12th century), the Baroque art in Lecce, the old famours gothic  Cathedral in Trani. Enchanting sandy beaches  can be reached on both  coasts: the ionian and the adriatic. Within  minutes or half an hour/hour drive from the House. Chiatona, Castellaneta Marina, Ginosa Marina, Leporano and Marina  di Pulsano; Capitolo, Rosa Marina, Polignano a mare,  Thermal baths at Torre Canne and so on….
